English Brown (Fulham-Type) Salt-Glazed Stoneware Tankard Rim Sherd

(1690 - 1775)

Two mending English Brown salt-glazed stoneware rim sherds from a mug or tankard. The exterior has thick mottling with speckles and a brown salt glaze. The exterior body and the interior rim are coated with a brown iron oxide slip. The tankard consists of two sherds that mend but are not mended. Similar tankards have been found within the same context but they do not mend and are likely not from the same vessel.
