One thick-bodied ceramic base sherd from a Hessian crucible. The sherd is likely a crude stoneware or coarse earthenware. The crucible has a flat, rounded base with what appears to be a greenish-brown colored glaze on the exterior or damage from manufacturing use. The interior is heavily stained from use and burned.
