Underglaze Painted Chinese Porcelain Saucer

(1710 - 1797)

Four mendable base/body/rim sherds from a small Chinese-export porcelain saucer. The saucer is decorated with blue underglaze painted decoration on the interior. Along the interior rim and along the face of the central motif, there is a painted trellis in blue decoration. The central motif is decorated with a Pavilion Landscape motif, depicting some type of dwelling or structure beside large towering trees. The base has a very small rounded wedge footring that is slightly yellowed. The saucer consists of two sherds that are mended and two sherds that mend but are not mended/glued. This vessel is cross-mended between contexts.
