Refined Earthenware Body/Rim Sherd

(1762 - 1830)

Thirteen extremely discolored refined earthenware mendable body and rim sherds from a hollowware vessel. The vessel may possibly be a spill vase with a flared rim and an equally as flared body, the upper body portion of a bedside water bottle, or a handleless ewer with a tapered neck. The vessel appears to be trumpet-shape, but the base portion is missing. No decoration can be determined. The rim measures to 3.5 inches in diameter and the body is 1.90 inches in diameter at narrowest point. The vessel is most likely creamware or pearlware but is difficult to determine due to heavy staining from the privy.
