Redware Floor Tile

(17th Century)

One redware floor tile with an edge that has a red/orange sandy textured body and is 3/4 inch thick. The face has a buff slip covered with a green lead glaze. There also is some dripped green glaze on the side of the tile as well as some glaze without a slip on the bottom. Likely Dutch in origin and similar to tiles seen in Dutch 17th century paintings.
