Identical to Type 8b (ca. 1680-1720), Typology of English Pipes (from Oswald 1961:59 fig 1 and 61 fig 2 in Walker 1977:1517). Heel 1/4" X 4.5/16" . Incised line below rim on bowl facing the smoker. Good quality pipe.
