Coarse Earthenware Cookpot

One very large base sherd representing approximately 1/4 of a coarse earthenware pipkin or cookpot. The sherd has a large foot that measures 3 1/2 by 1 3/8 inches in diameter. The vessel has a medium buff body which is grayed in places, possibly due to charring or fire damage. The interior is completely covered with a dark yellow or light orange colored glaze which is heavily crazed. The exterior is mostly ungalzed and has visible fingerprints from the potter. There is some remnatns of glaze on the size of the vessel and the base has a batch of burned on material which is slightly flakey.
