Coarse Earthenware Cookpot

(17th Century)

One mended coarse earthenware cookpot comprised of white/buff bodied body and rim sherds and an attached handle. There is a thin pink slip coated with a yellow lead glaze on the interior and exterior surfaces. There also is some discoloration from burning, which may indicate that the pot was used for cooking. Likely Dutch or American in origin. The rim diameter is approximately 11 inches and the height is over 6 inches.
