Painted Tin-Glazed Earthenware Bowl

(1600 - 1800)

Nine body and rim sherds straight-sided buff-bodied tin-glazed earthenware bowl (or possibly a tankard or mug) with blue-tinted white glaze both surfaces. The exterior has large sloppily-decorated flowers with leaves painted in a dark blue. The border is painted oxhead pattern between two lines with one portion depicting a filled-in flower. The interior has no visible decoration. The vessel consists of multiple fragments that do not mend but are likely from the same vessel. The sherds come from neighboring contexts that cross-mend.
