One ceramic crucible rim sherd from a moderately-large sized crucible. The sherd is possibly a crude stoneware or coarse earthenware and is from a triangular-mouthed vessel with a circular base. The exterior is coated in a brown glaze or is possibly the result of damage from manufacturing or use. Possibly a Hessian crucible.
