Molded Smoking Pipe Stem and Bowl Rim

(1690 - 1710)

One complete white ball clay smoking pipe bowl with a plain rim and an almost complete stem. The bowl has a worn cartouche on the right side which possibly reads "RC" over "PW". Although the specific maker is unknown, the pipe's shape indicates that was manufactured in Bristol. The pipe has a flat base with no stem or heel. The interior of the bowl is heavily blackened from smoking damage and use. The body of the pipe is also heavily stained from smoking or possibly deposition.
