Underglaze Painted Chinese Porcelain Plate Rim Sherd

(Early 19th Century)

One rim sherd from a Chinese Export porcelain plate with a sloppy blue underglaze painted decoration. Possibly a Nanking-ware from the early 19th century. Rim has a fish roe diaper pattern with a repeating blue trellis band beneath. The sherd is most likely a residual from a plate in a neighboring context but does not mend to vessel.
