One mended pearlware platter comprised of base, body, and rim sherds. The rim is scalloped and decorated with a green underglaze painted Rococo-inspired molded shell edge on the interior surface. The green glaze extends over the top of the rim to the back of the sherd. There is an I.W maker's mark on the exterior surface of the base, possibly linking this vessel with earthenwares made ca. 1835-65, including Isaac Wilson of Middlesbrough, Yorkshire ca. 1852-1857. The "I" also may be a "J," possibly affiliating this vessel with the Staffordshire firms of James Warren, Longton (ca. 1841-53) or John Walley, Burslem (ca. 1850-1867). However, many other firms also used these initials during earlier and later periods. The rim diameter is approximately 30 cm.
