Underglaze Painted Pearlware Saucer

(ca. 1795 - ca. 1815)

One mended pearlware saucer consisting of body, base, and footring sherds. On the interior surface of the face, there is a blue underglaze painted line encircling a polychrome scene featuring a peahen sitting on a branch surrounded by leaves, flowers, and geometric shapes. The decoration colors primarily consist of yellow, orange, brown, green, and blue. This is an example of pearlware design #62. Additional base, body, and rim fragments featuring this design are present. The base diameter is approximately 10 cm.
