The face is coated with a white tin glaze and decorated with a painted decoration in cobalt (blue) featuring a ship scene surrounded by double concentric circle and oxhead corners. There also are traces of the tin glaze on the edges and back of the tile. The square tile is 12 cm x 12 cm and approximately 1 cm thick.
