Underglaze Painted Chinese Porcelain Rim Sherd

(Late 18th Century)

One Chinese porcelain rim sherd from an octagonal flatware vessel such as a plate or platter. The body is a light blue/gray color and fairly thick with a blue painted underglaze decoration on the interior surface featuring fish roe around the edge, blue spearhead, hex cell motif, and an elaborate geometric and floral design. The marley is approximately 2 1/4 inches wide.
