Underglaze Painted Chinese Porcelain Body and Base Sherd

(ca. 1785)

One Chinese porcelain body and base sherd with a footring. May be part of a shallow bowl or saucer. The body is very white and the face is finely painted with a painted blue underglaze design consisting of an elaborate house and rocks. There is a Nanking shaded trellis design around the cavetto. May be part of the same vessel as sherds 249.57, 256.138, 256.99, and 256.176.
