One buff/white bodied coarse earthenware body sherd. There is a greenish yellow lead glaze with some brown spots coating the interior surface and part of the exterior surface. Pockmarks in the lead glaze may be due to salt present on the walls of the kiln during firing. Likely part of a jug with a large handle scar on the exterior surface. May be an 18th-century French vessel, as it resembles those ceramics found in the wreck of the French frigate, Machault. Several source analysis drill marks are present in the paste.
