One Chinese porcelain rim sherd. There is a brown painted line atop the surface of the rim. Known as a brown washed or brown dressed rim, this treatment was applied beginning around the 1630's to strengthen vessel rims and thin out fragile glaze. On the interior, concave surface, there is a dark blue floral or geometric painted underglaze decoration. Possibly part of a plate.
