Ribbed Creamware Rim Sherd

(1762 - 1820)

One creamware rim sherd. A scar is visible where the attached rim broke off. There is some discoloration on the glaze and paste, which may be from burning or a privy.  The exterior surface of the body is decorated with lathe turned barrel ribs. May be part of the same vessel as sherds 256.151, 311.6, 210.76, 230.62, 230.70, 230.26, 230.47, 230.43, 230.54, 230.4, and 230.21. Possibly burned during the Great Fire of 1835 in New York City.
