Painted Tin-Glazed Earthenware Base Sherd

(1600 - 1800)

One heavily burned tin glazed refined earthenware (delft) base sherd with a foot ring from a hollowware vessel. Likely burned during the Great Fire of 1835 in New York City. Both surfaces are glazed with a white tin glaze. There is a painted cobalt (blue) decoration on the exterior surface.
