Five rim sherds from a black printed whiteware vessel, likely one of the three plates found in the same context. Two sherds are mended but do not mend with the remaining sherds. One sherd has significantly more damage than the other four and shows signs of iron corrosion. Although none bear a maker's mark, the pattern is likely "Rhone Scenery" by T. J. & J. Mayer of Longport, Burslem, Staffordshire. This design was likely created between 1842 and 1855 and the series depicted Romantic views of the Rhone River, which begins in Switzerland and passes through Lake Geneva and France into the Mediterranean. The rim uses a repeating motif of scrolls, horizontal lines, and both floral and botanical motifs.
