Tile, Floor

(1620 - 1710)

Thick floor tile with a green glaze on top of a buff slip. The glaze is very worn, however a small pock mark in the top corner closest to the viewer in the photograph has the glaze showing its original dark green color. It was probably made in the Netherlands and Dutch paintings often depict green floor tiles like were often used with yellow floor tiles in a checkerboard pattern.
