London-Shaped Whiteware Bowl

(1802 - 1880)

Five whiteware base, body and rim sherds from a London-shaped cup or bowl with no visible decoration. The rim measures 5.7 inches in diameter, and the bowl stands approximately 3 inches tall. The base has an incised "M," possibly a maker's mark. Four sherds mend together, and one additional rim sherd might belong to the vessel. This vessel could have been used for multiple purposes, including as a slop bowl for tea and as a bowl for eating foods like soup or porridge.
