Overglaze Enamel Painted "En Grisaille" Chinese Porcelain Saucer Rim Sherd

(1728 - 1805)

One rim sherd from a Chinese-export porcelain saucer with overglaze painted/enameled decoration around the interior of the rim. The body is very thin and slightly translucent. The decoration around the rim is a very finely drawn, rococo style shell or floral border in the "en grisaille" or black color palate. There is no visible decoration on the exterior.
