One very small Chinese export porcelain rim sherd with an underglaze blue painted decoration on both the interior and exterior. The interior rim has a delicately painted and simple geometric border. The exterior is decorated with a figure/person in traditional Chinese dress. The sherd may possibly be from a teacup, bowl or similar type of vessel. According to David Sanctuary Howard in his 1984 book New York and the China Trade (NY: The New-York Historical Society, pg. 65) the cup is a "good-quality" Kang Hsi porcelain, circa 1700.
