Painted Floral Dutch Majolica Body Sherd

(1625 - 1675)

One slightly curved Dutch Majolica body sherd with a light buff paste, a colorless lead glazed exterior, and a white tin glazed interior. The interior is decorated with bold medium and dark blue painted designs. The pattern appears to be a floral motif. The edges of the sherd are heavily stained. The slight curve of the sherd may indicate that it is from a plate or similar shallow vessel.
