Banded Dipped Whiteware Body Sherd

(ca. 1770 - Late 19th Century)

One mended dipped, or dipt, whiteware body sherd from a hollowware vessel with a cream slipped interior. The external surface is banded in cobalt blue, brown, and red/brown. In one portion, these bands of color alternate with engine turned inlaid rouletting, revealing a dark brown slip underneath.
