Painted Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug

One mended upper portion of a gray bodied salt glazed stoneware jug comprised of body and rim sherds. The glaze is missing from several areas of the exterior surface. The interior is unglazed except for the area below the mouth and varies in color from gray to red, possibly due to the adherence of rust. There is a cobalt (blue) painted decoration on the exterior consisting of a curvilinear design. The rim diameter is approximately 1 1/2 inches and the shoulder diameter is approximately 8 1/2 inches.
