This stratum was located in the northwest corner of TC D. It consisted of a layer of tan sand immediately overlying a possible domestic midden deposit (Stratum 8 – CAT# 69). Although this stratum was nine inches thick in the northwest corner and approximately one to four inches thick in the center of the north wall, only the lower two inches were excavated separately. The upper portion of this stratum was excavated with Stratum 4b (CAT# 52). The stratigraphy indicates that this stratum was deposited before the installation of the wooden box feature. Please see pages 215-216 of the site report for additional information.
