A red transfer printed whiteware rim sherd from a flatware vessel, likely an oval platter. A maker's mark names this design "CLYDE SCENERY/ Jackson's Warranted." Although the central scene remains unknown, the rim features a design created by Job & John Jackson of Burslem, Staffordshire between 1831 and 1835. This series depicted views of the River Clyde and Glasgow. The gently scalloped rim uses floral and botanical designs, florals with picture medallions, and a motif called "Clyde Scenery: Jackson." The underside of the rim shows discoloration, likely caused by a fire or from the surface coming into contact with a deteriorating iron vessel.
