At approximately two meters and ten centimeters (approximately 7 feet) below the surface and one half meter north of the present-day sidewalk, cut granite stones in a regular pattern were uncovered. Further excavation revealed these to be the remnants of a foundation wall. Based upon the location and orientation of the stone foundation, it was determined to have been associated with a structure along Queen Street (present-day Pearl Street). The foundation walls were found to have belonged to a structure at 52 Queen Street. These foundation walls appear to have been part of a basement storeroom. The artifact assemblage consisted of a wide range of domestic materials and appeared to have been deposited in a single episode, likely following the vacancy or sale of the property.
