Assay Site, New York, NY (1984)

Archaeological excavation occurred at the intersection of South Street, Front Street, Governeur's Lane and Old Slip on the east side of Manhattan which uncovered remnants of wharves and bulkheads from before the block was filled, and privies and burnt material from the Great Fire in 1835. The artifact collection is at the NY State Museum in Albany.
