Four-in-Diamond Smoking Pipe Stem

Clay smoking pipe stem decorated with a four-in-diamond, fleur-de-lis pattern bookended by rouletted bands. Fleur-de-lis pipes were popular in New Amsterdam/York in the 17th century. Examples have been found in key archaeological excavations in Manhattan, including the 7 Hanover Square, Stadt Huys, and Broad Financial Center projects.
