Stoneware Crucible

Nine mending ceramic base, body and rim sherds from a Hessian crucible. The crucible is likely made of a crude stoneware with a coarse, buff paste. The crucible has a flat, rounded base and a triangular-shaped rim. The crucible is heavily stained but the staining may be from the deposition and not from use.
