CH Smoking Pipe Bowl Rim

(1700 - 1740)

One complete white ball clay smoking pipe bowl with a plain rim. The bowl is large, flattened and perpendicular to the stem axis. The interior is slightly blackened from smoke damage. The center of the bowl, between the rim and stem, is stamped with the initials "CH." The maker may have been Charles Hickes, a pipe manufacturer from Bristol, England, who manufactured pipes between 1700 and 1740.
