Underglaze Painted Pearlware Saucer

(ca. 1795 - ca. 1815)

One mended pearlware saucer consisting of rim, body, base, and footring sherds. The interior surface is decorated with a polychrome underglaze painted floral design featuring a double brown line below the interior rim and a brown flower with orange dots in the middle of the bowl. A second double brown line and a blue geometric border with a dotted, wavy orange line surrounds the center flower decoration. This is an example of pearlware design #1. Additional base, body, and rim fragments featuring this design are present. The base diameter is approximately 7.5 cm., the rim diameter is 12.5 cm., and the height is 3 cm.
